If you are willing to be challenged, flexible, responsible and work autonomously while maintaining a mentoring relationship with your supervisor and improving your skills, an internship with In the Round Design Group is for you.
As a content and communications intern at In the Round throughout my senior year at Malone College, I exercised and stretched my writing, graphic design, layout and web skills. I learned to work in Adobe InDesign and became even more proficient in Adobe Photoshop. I also developed my eye for effective graphic design and my writing skills. My job responsibilities were a nice blend of creativity, organization, detail work and interaction with people.
At In the Round, I was an integral part of the business, not just an extra person available for odd jobs and busywork. While enjoying a mentoring relationship with Josh and Kate, I worked independently on important projects. I also enjoyed working with a variety of clients including Malone College, churches, a summer church camp, a Christian publishing house, and artists in the community.
In the Round also promotes a community atmosphere. All employees were able to work together on pieces of projects according to their individual skills in order to create a unified, more complete communication. We got to know each other on a more personal basis as well as professionally. Our interaction was not limited to the work day; we shared several family get-togethers, movie nights and lunches.
A communications internship with In the Round Productions is perfect for anyone with interests in print communication, desktop publishing and graphic design, multi-media communication or writing. Also, those who would enjoy working with a non-profit client base would find In the Round a good fit.
