Application Process

Applicants will be required to provide a resume citing education, work, and related experience. You will also need to provide provide 4-6 references as you proceed through the process.

  2. We'll ask select candidates to submit work samples and portfolios
  3. Finalists will come in for an in-person interview
  4. You Wow us and start your internship!


Application Deadlines

Internship positions are limited and are filled on an as-available basis. Applicants are encouraged to apply at least a semester in advance as preference will be given to early applications.

Fall semester: cutoff date September 15
Spring semester: cutoff date December 15
Summer semester: cutoff date April 15

 

In The Round is a partner in Ohio’s Third Frontier Internship Program, a select group of high-tech businesses in Ohio that have been chosen by the state to provide advanced internship opportunities for technology students.

CS interns are involved in all aspects of designing and deploying websites and client/server software applications. These projects are wide-ranging in size and scope and frequently involve multiple technologies. Projects may include database design, data loading, objected-oriented coding, user interface design/testing, and visual layout. Interns may also assist in computer and network administration.

Internship applicants should have significant experience in four or more of the following skill areas:

  • Advanced standards-based HTML/CSS
  • Moderate-to-advanced PHP/.NET/JSP
  • Moderate-to-advanced SQL
  • Object-oriented programming
  • Moderate-to-advanced Javascript/AJAX
  • Windows/IIS and/or Linux/Apache
  •  Flash/interactive media
  • Visual design for web
  • Content Management Systems
  • Open source development

Application Process


Internships are typically 2-3 semesters long (occasionally single-semester summer internships are granted). Summer internships are typically 20-40 hours per week while Fall and Spring internships are typically 12-20 hours per week.

  • Completed internship application (online)
  • Resume citing educational experience,work experience, and related experience
  • References (2 academic, 2 character)

Selected candidates will be asked to submit work samples and portfolios and participate in an interview.
